personal

the vast majority of norse myths ，traditions and beliefs have been recorded and handed down through written works from icelandic monks ．as such ，emil is a strong believer in Norse mythology ．Being a bit of a supernatural being himself ，he's in close contact with the spirits ，elves and other creatures that roam his land ．Their wellbeing is as important to him as his people's wellbeing ，so please treat them kindly ．can commonly be found leaving out candles on dark winter days to help wandering spirits find their way ．

in the same vein ，also a great fan of poetry and traditional literature ．two masterpieces of norse culture and history ，the poetic edda and Landnámabók ，find their origins in iceland ．there's great value and quite a bit of national pride attached to them ．

physical

being a very volcanically active nation ，emil suffers from quite a few associated health problems ．in human terms ，they mostly take on the form of severe asthma attacks and episodic migraines ．it's a great drain on his physical and mental state ，so if he's a bit more ' explosive ' than usual ，don't take it personally ．

being surrounded by saline ocean air ，he actually has very well - defined natural curls ．however ，since becoming independent ，he has styled his hair to lay flat almost daily ．he hoped the likeness to his brothers would make others take him more seriously ，but recently ，he's been wondering if always being associated with the other nordics is a good thing ．you might catch him with his curls out on an early morning ，or if you ask nicely ．

he has two pets : a puffin ，who doesn't really have a name aside from ' Mister Puffin ' ，and a small ，scruffy white kitten called Lopi ．Mister Puffin looks a little silly ，but is actually quite a clever companion ．the two have known each other since before Emil even knew his own brother ．as such ，Mister Puffin likes to keep an eye out for the boy ．he's a curious thing ，commonly resting on Emil's shoulder and judging everybody who comes near him ．he and Emil will commonly reply to each others' noises and comments ，but whether they can actually understand each other or are just being silly ，nobody knows ．Lopi is just as cute ，but not nearly as clever ．in fact ，he kinda sucks at existing ．seemingly permanently stuck as a kitten ，he's named after the Icelandic sheep's wool used to make lopapeysas ，just as soft ，scruffy and white as he is ．he's known to bump into things, randomly flop over ，or walk right before your feet ．both Emil and Mister Puffin regularly have to get him out of impossible places ( he's the size of your hand ，how did he even get up there ? ) still ，he's the absolute cutest thing you'll see in your life ．
